Welcome to the Southeast Schooling Show Series
Hugh Lochore and Penny Morse have teamed up to offer schooling shows at various locations throughout the Atlanta Area. The SESSS is dedicated to horse owners, trainers and competitors across the southeast looking for a convenient, affordable and efficient way to mirror the recognized show experience without the incredible expense. Our shows will help prepare horses and riders by providing access to the same judges, questions and competition environment as those of recognized events at less than half the cost.
Grass roots-level competition today is vitally important to fostering the growth and development of tomorrow’s next great riders. In keeping with the Lochore/Morse reputation of taking a regular show and making it even more fun, the shows will vary at each location.
Some of the shows will be Jumpers only, however with a bonus of Gambler’s Choice and Grand Prix and Mini Prix with prize Money! All CT’s and Dressage scores will count towards the SESSC and GDCTA awards. All shows will be GDCTA recognized.

Meet Hugh
Hugh Lochore is well known both here and the UK for his design of challenging but flowing cross-country courses, his commentating at Kentucky 3-Day and Maryland 5*, to name just a few, plus his knowledge on footing and the construction of not only cross-country obstacles but also stadium jumps. He has successfully organized FEI 4* events, recognized Horse Trials and Schooling Shows for many years. Having someone as experienced and accomplished as Hugh, giving his time to schooling shows is indeed a privilege.
Hugh's wife, Brook, will be introducing ‘Brooke’s Bites’, with her tasty menu that has served us so well for so many years!
Meet Penny
Penny Morse has been active in the organization of shows for many years, relentlessly working behind the scenes as well as in the show office, promoting volunteering and planning opening ceremonies. She started the Southeast Schooling Show Championships in 2017, and was awarded the GDCTA President’s Award for giving Schooling Shows the recognition they deserved.
